400 Northampton Street: The National Building
This 1908 office building is the last existing Beaux-Arts building in Easton, and was originally built as the Northampton National Bank Building. Koehler-Kheel purchased the property in 2000 and completely renovated the interior, bringing modern amenities to the historic structure. The building, known as The National Building, now houses The Morning Call and many other small and entrepreneurial businesses, including insurance, accounting, design and publication offices. The building is at 95% capacity and offers expandable suites beginning at 360 sq. ft. The gorgeous lobby to the building includes a mural commissioned by the Works Progress Administration that has been deemed a state treasure.
April 2009 marked the centennial of the building. In March and May of 2009, The National and Koehler Kheel Realty were featured on the WFMZ-69 news for the centennial and the centennial celebration, respectively. Senators Robert C. Wonderling, Lisa Boscola and Representative Bob Freeman issued citations on behalf of the commonwealth, celebrating the occasion. Easton Mayor Sal Panto declared May 20th 2009 to be a city holiday on behalf of the centennial. Peter R. Koehler, Koehler Kheel Realty, and Rep. Bob Freeman honored David Miller, Esq. for his 50 year tenancy in the building, and commitment to doing business in Easton.
